Q: What is a refurbished piano?

A refurbished piano is a used instrument that has been restored to showroom condition. If you would like a professional-grade new piano but find them out of your price-range, a refurbished piano may be right for you.

Q: What is all done to a refurbished piano?

All keys, pins, strings, and metal parts (pedals, casters, etc) are either polished or replaced so they look perfect. All the action parts are carefully examined and hammer felt is either replaced or refinished. All damaged flange chords are replaced. The finish will be cleaned and prepared to look virtually “new.” When needed, parts such as keys, strings, and pins are replaced. The plate is also repainted. After all parts are repaired or replaced the piano is regulated and tuned by experienced craftsmen.

Q: What brands do you carry?

Our refurbished pianos are primarily Yamaha & Kawai. The upright pianos are 48” to 52” and represent the best these companies have to offer. The grands vary in size and quality but are all made in Japan. Since we have access to a large inventory of refurbished pianos, we would encourage you to contact us with your specific needs.

Q: The price is so much less than a new one. What should I be concerned about?

Even though they are refurbished, these instruments are still used and should not be expected to last as long as a brand new one. It’s similar to buying a good used car from a reputable dealer……they’ve got a few more miles but cost a lot less. As with any of our products, feel free to bring a piano teacher or technician along with you to inspect these instruments. You also have the security of a one-year warranty.
